    The Next Cycle of 40

    Part 10 Section 3

    2Sa 2:8 ¶ But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul’s host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

    Mahanaim = “two camps”

    1) a place east of the Jordan, named from Jacob’s encounter with angels

    2) a Levitical city in Gad

    God refocused me on this word Mahanaim because it seems to indicate indecision, or doubt…like the state of mind of Israel at the time was a split decision, or they were “between a rock and a hard place,” or “neither hot nor cold.” Since Brett has been talking alot about doubt, this caught my attention here as well.

    2Sa 2:10  Ishbosheth Saul’s son [was] forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

    Ishbosheth = “man of shame”

    1)    surviving son of Saul, king of Israel for 7 years while David was king over Judah; succeeded by David who united the kingdom

    Point number one, is that the fact that the Spirit was again present before this reign of the “man of shame” occurred. That is significant, because it demonstrates that God had a purpose even in this. He had a purpose in allowing a split decision or allowing two options…a choice.

    So the very fact that any of us have doubt is actually correct, because it means that we see that there are options, and we are aware of our own lack of ability or limitations. The thing is, not to dwell in doubt or our lack of abilities, but to see and seek the Father for His will and His way, because that will dispel all doubt, and we will know the correct path. That will enable our abilities via the spirit man within, infusing them with God’s power, and purpose. Again…God has a purpose in every thing.

    Now, at this point, I have to break this down much further, because God, via my friend Gary, has enlightened me, and what Gary has shown me…God has just blown up on so many levels.

    So I have to give you just a taste of it here, because the whole revelation is still ongoing and lengthy, and that’s a whole ‘nother study, but you need a perception of Ishbosheth and the definition of who he was. To do that…I have to take you back to the beginning. I also have to take you into Gary’s site for a full breakdown of what I hope will be a brief glimspe or summarization here. So at this point, I suggest you check out this as it will help you to see where I’m coming from further on in this section of my study.
